NETWORK RELATED:


1. What is a 3G network?

A: The 3G network is the third generation of mobile networking and telecommunications. It features a wider range of services and advances network capacity over the previous 2G network. 3G networks provide download speeds of 7.2 Mbps and upload speeds of 5.76 Mbps.

2. Will 3G work only in my city or while roaming?

A: Yes, 3G will work not only in your home network but also while roaming across the world.

3. What happens when I move from 3G to 2G network?

A: When a user moves from 3G to 2G network then all the service supported on 3G network like, video call, high speed internet access, etc will not be available. You will get basic services like voice call, SMS etc. If you were on a voice call while moving from 3G to 2G network, the call will continue.

MODEM RELATED:


1. Why the installation program does not run automatically?

A. This problem arises if the system configuration is not suitable for the auto-run. If the system does not launch installation automatically, you can run the installation program in the path of My Computer >> VISIONTEK 82GH Modem. If you have installed the other version of installation program please uninstall it firstly.

2. After full installation, the system doesn't install the driver properly?

A. For this please install the driver program manually. The driver program can be found in the installation address.

3. After plugging in, why the UI program doesn't launch automatically?

A. If the system configuration is not proper then this case may arise. Please open the UI program manually. You can find it in the Windows Quick start menu or the shortcut on the desktop.

4. Can I send SMS messages using the VISIONTEK 3G USB Modem?

A. YES.

5. Can I make or receive call through the VISIONTEK 3G USB Modem?

A. YES with help of Headsets.

6. My MICRO-SD card can not be read or not found?

A. Check slot of the Micro-SD card, Whether it is inserted as per the prescribed direction or not, if yes check it is inserted properly or not , check capacity of the Micro-SD Card maximum supported capacity is 8GB, if all are OK than may be a problem with SD Card.

7. When the Modem is being installed, the computer cannot find it?

a) May be the installation programs of the VISIONTEK 3G Modem haven't been installed properly.
  Solution: Connect the modem first and then run the installation program. If you use the Win XP operating system, install the drivers according to the Windows indication information to operate.
b) The modem isn't connected properly.
  Solution: Remove the device and reconnect the device properly.
c) Even though If system is not detecting the driver.
  Solution: Uninstall the driver and again install it.

8. Modem is not getting detected due to firewall security or when opening the connection, a Firewall Security Alert appears, what should we do?

A. For the VISIONTEK 3G Modem software to work correctly, it must be allowed to connect through your firewall. Select the appropriate option. For example, Allow, unblock or Permit. If you require further information on how to configure your firewall to allow this application please contact the vendor of your firewall software.

9. Even after restarting computer, there is no signal all the time what all are the reasons?

a) You are in a place where no GSM/GPRS/EDGE/WCDMA/HSDPA network covered, such as underground parking lot, tunnel etc.
  Solution: Use Swivel option to place the modem in upright position. Change to the place where having proper signal.
b) The modem isn't connected well.
  Solution: Pull out and insert the modem safely again.
c) The SIM/USIM card isn't inserted well, such as inserted in reverse.
  Solution: Remove the SIM/USIM card from the modem and reinsert it properly.
d) The position of the VISIONTEK 3G Modem inner antenna is unfitting / loose contacts. Solution: Open the top cover of the modem. Remove the antenna and adjust the ground pin.

SOFTWARE/OPERATING SYSTEMS RELATED:

10. After plugging in the Modem to Vista it warns that "An unidentified program access" ?

A. Windows Vista contains Enhanced Security Features which warn you when any application attempts to install. Please Select Allow to begin the Software installation.

Go to Settings » select Alert option » select hammer at the bottom of the screen

If still problem exists then
Go to your System Audio settings > > Change your default audio driver into system audio driver.

12. If the following message is displayed " The system could not find the phone book entry for this connection"

A. Check the compatibility of your system driver as follows:
Right click on Visiontek desktop icon >> Go to properties >> Check the compatibility settings.

14. If the following message is displayed " The remote computer was not connected to this connection " ?

A. Please check the protocol settings as follows:
Go to my network places » you can find a dial up connection » there will be 3G modem dialer » go to properties » security » advanced settings » security » select CHAP.

15. What should we do if the modem cannot connect to internet when roaming?

a. Check whether the roaming service of USIM card is enabled. If not contact with your network service provider.
b. Contact with distributor to check the APN settings.
c. Check whether Modem is locked to particular network.

16. With the modem connected, how can I start browsing web sites?

A. Once the Software reports that it is connected, you can Open the web browser and enter desired web address to start browsing. The Default Internet Browser on a PC is Internet Explorer; this is normally located on your Start menu and can be identified by a Blue "e" icon.

17. While connecting, display shows Dial up failed / PPP Link was terminated what all are the reasons?

Problem Related Causes:
a) You are in a place where no GSM/GPRS/EDGE/WCDMA/HSDPA network is covered, such as underground parking lot, tunnel etc.
Solution: Change to the place where there is a good signal.
b) The network at this time in this place is busy now.
Solution: Try later.
c) Wrong APN loaded in the software.
Solution:Please enter the APN manually in the Settings as per the inserted SIM Card.
d) The network type selected using manual search may or may not be a correct one as per the SIM plan.
Solution: Confirm the network operator regarding the network type to be selected as per the SIM plan.

18. Connected to the Internet, but cannot open any web page?

Problem Related Causes:
a) After connection, there is no data transfer, which resulted that you cannot open web pages.
Solution: Check the upload and download speeds.
b) Signal strength is not sufficient to open the web page.
Solution: Change to a place where you can be connected or change operator.
c) May be sufficient amount is not available in the SIM card if it is Prepaid.
Solution: Check the balance amount.
d) May be server problem at that point of time.
Solution: Try later.
e) The IE browser has got problems.
Solution: Upgrade to the new version or reinstall the IE browser. Please clean IE temp files.

f) The operating system is infected by virus. (Such as Worm, Blaster which can take up a quantity of upload data flow and result that it can't receive downloaded data flow so that you cannot open any website) to address the same.
Solution: Use the professional anti-virus software to check and kill the virus in the operating system completely.
